My cousin Matthew opened a bookshop the week before Christmas. It's in London SE1, and it's called Crockatt and Powell. Matthew (Crockatt) and Adam (Powell) have a blog which you can view at http://crockattpowell.blog.co.uk and which has recently been named as Site of the Week in the Culture Vulture section of the Guardian. If anyone happens to be in London then please buy books from them! Otherwise visit the blog - it's an interesting mixture of thoughts about books and writing, and amusing comments about setting up the shop and the people who come to browse and buy. Flick through to their first post to find out more about the shop. Apparently they are already taking enough money to make a small profit, which in January is pretty good going!
